LAST June 23, the CAT Security Group concluded the Chairman’s Cup 2018, the third inter-cluster practical shooting competition, participated by 114 security personnel in Philippine Marine Corps Firing Range in Taguig City.
The participants, comprised of security guards, lady guards, officers and staff from different detachments took in the Chairman’s Cup, which especially attended by Chairman and CEO Jose Bengzon Poe (JBP). Also present were Security Director Rozel Narag, Deputy Director Romulo Alfiler, and the cluster managers and officers.
For the team category, the clusters competed head to head for the Chairman’s Cup 2018 title, which was bagged by the East Cluster (125.1690 pts), ahead of the North (112.6676 pts), West (99.7317 pts), and South (77.4660 pts). The East Cluster also received special awards, after its Operations Officer Jacob Moncatar grabbed the top spot for Stage 1 with 16.52 pts and PSECC Detachment Commander Ruben Guevarra for Stage 2 (18.21 pts) and 3 (6.10 pts). Meanwhile for the individual category, the Top 5 shooters will be given a chance to train and compete for the PNP Battle of the Gun Clubs this September 2018. They are:
Ruben Guevarra, 29.6713 pts (PSECC)
Roberto Ballacillo, 28.5916 pts (Icon)
Paul Albert Esguerra, 26.9841 pts (VIP)
Jacob Moncatar, 26.7007 pts (HQ – East)
Patrick Henry Cambel, 25.1789 pts (Miriam College)
A total of three Cups, including the Founder’s Cup last 2017 and President’s Cup last March 3, have been completed.
There were repeat participants for Chairman’s Cup, but as Josef Poe (JoBP), Director for Facilities Planning and the main advocate of CAT Security’s practical shooting programs said, “Seeing repeat participants and greater participation from the ladies could only mean a growing interest and confidence in the sport.” He also added that the main goal really is to make learning fun.
All participants from the three cups were highly commended for showing their skills and interest in the CAT Security shooting programs.
We are hoping to see more of our security personnel in our exciting activities. See you!
